Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Los Angeles, CA
As clients advance through our medical detox program, the treatment focus shifts from managing withdrawal symptoms to therapeutic immersion and planning for the next level of care. Clients participate in engaging multimodal group and individual therapy sessions to gain insight and process underlying causes of addiction. Our residential rehab in Los Angeles provides 24-hour support for an average of two to four weeks, depending on the individual’s needs and goals.
We are not a standard, one-size-fits-all program. We strongly believe that long-term recovery is achievable when treatment targets the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing paired with carefully established aftercare planning. After residential treatment each client is provided with an individualized outpatient step-down treatment plan to ensure long term recovery.
Dual-Diagnosis Treatment at Clear’s Residential Rehab
Addiction is often related to untreated, additional mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, grief, and/or trauma. Individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders often need more intensive treatment due to the complexity and severity of their symptoms. Our holistic approach to treatment addresses co-occurring disorders with substance abuse and/or addiction. We recognize the importance of simultaneously treating all co-occurring disorders along with substance abuse and addiction to achieve long-term success at recovery. The expert clinical staff at Clear Recovery’s residential rehab is skilled at identifying these underlying mental health problems and tailoring each client’s treatment plan accordingly.
Benefits of Residential Rehab in Los Angeles, CA
Clinical Process Groups
Guided by licensed therapists, process group therapy involves a gathering of peers who are all in similar stages of recovery. Depending on the therapist and modality, the format may vary but the subject matter always involves addiction and mental health.
Experiential Therapy Such as Breathwork, Yoga, and Meditation
Experiential therapy is a modality where clients face emotions using different expressive tools to explore past situations and to understand how the past affected their behavior. This form of therapy is often used to treat substance abuse and other physical addictions, as well as depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief that co-occur with addiction. Clear Recovery offers several forms of experiential therapy at our Redondo Beach facility.
1:1 Therapy
Clients are paired with a therapist who best matches their needs and therapeutic objectives. Weekly individualized therapy provides clients the space to address and process the difficult emotions that early stages of recovery can invoke.
Nursing Support and Supervision
Our nurses attend to each residential rehab client 24/7 and provide medical attention as needed. Our nurses work closely with the doctor to administer prescribed medications and reduce any discomfort associated with the withdrawal process.
Services Provided at Clear’s Residential Rehab
Clear Recovery Center uses a comprehensive approach. Each level of care employs a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and psychiatry. Some of the evidence-based modalities we offer in Los Angeles, CA include:
Counseling Services
Psychiatry
Clients benefit significantly from a multidisciplinary team approach that includes psychiatry to cater adequately to medication management. The collaborative nature of our team allows our psychiatrists to benefit from the complementary skills of the therapists, case managers, and group facilitators who provide critical observational assessments and insight for each client so they can better formulate more effective treatment planning in regards to prescription medication. We are mindful to not disrupt the progression of ongoing treatment plans and our team will coordinate care with their current prescribing psychiatrist.
Case management and life skills
A dedicated case manager works with clients and meets with them weekly to help them identify and unlearn unhealthy behaviors, develop life, vocational, and coping skills, facilitate communication and education to families and friends, and coordinate care. Family phone calls are conducted to give the client’s families updates on the client’s progress and advise them on how to hold their loved one in early recovery accountable for their actions once they return home. Filing for unemployment, writing letters certifying medical need for a leave of absence and disability, setting up important appointments, referring families to al-anon and/or therapists, coordinating aftercare plans, and maintaining a line of communication with probation officers, lawyers, and/or employers are some adjunct services that Clear case managers provide to all of our residential rehab clients.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavior therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps patients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behavior. CBT has been scientifically tested and proven to be an effective treatment modality for many disorders. This modality is focused on the present and is problem-solving-oriented. We utilize CBT to assist our clients in learning applicable skills that they can benefit from for the rest of their lives. These skills include identifying misperceptions and distorted thinking, changing behavioral patterns, and modifying beliefs about themselves, others, and the world.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a cognitive-behavioral treatment initially developed to treat chronically suicidal individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and is recognized as the gold standard psychological treatment for this population. In addition, research has shown dialectical behavior therapy to be an effective model for treating a wide range of other disorders such as substance dependence, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders. DBT is actively woven into our curriculum to assist all clients in learning distress tolerance for difficult emotions more effectively.
Psychodynamic Therapy
The goals of psychodynamic therapy are to promote self- awareness and to increase insight regarding how past experiences shape current beliefs. Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious processes as they manifest in the client’s present behaviors. This form of therapy is also known as “insight-oriented” therapy. Psychodynamic therapy is based in a highly developed and multifaceted theory of human development and interaction. The approach for this form of therapy has evolved from psychoanalytical theory and has been applied to a wide range of disorders.
Addiction Services Offered In Los Angeles, CA
12 Step meetings
12 step groups in Los Angeles explore each of the steps outlined in the book Alcoholics Anonymous in depth. In these sessions, clients share how they have applied these principles in their own recovery as a way for others to gain insight into their own experiences, and to build strength and hope for their own recovery. These steps are not only a way to overcome addiction, but also serve as a guide toward a new way of life.
Codependency and how to break the cycle
Codependency is a behavioral condition that affects one’s ability to have healthy, mutually satisfying relationships free of insecurity, low self esteem, and guilt. Our groups provide codependent individuals with a safe space to express their emotions and helping clients identify codependent tendencies, understand the root cause of them, and develop self-compassion in order to break the cycle to heal and transform old patterns. These sessions also help clients develop positive relationships with themselves, family, and friends.
Relapse prevention
Relapse prevention groups help clients develop strategies to better manage high-risk situations that are likely to provoke a relapse. Our clinical staff support clients in anticipating these types of circumstances to minimize the risk of relapse.
Some individuals will have setbacks due to certain situations and circumstances in life, and it is not because of moral weakness, a lack of willpower or an unwillingness to stop, but rather an opportunity to re-evaluate and learn from the setback. Relapse is a common and upsetting part of treatment but it doesn’t mean that the recovery journey is over. Clear Recovery encourages those who relapse to come back in and jumpstart their treatment at our residential rehab in Los Angeles.
Psycho-education on drugs and alcohol
These groups focus on how drugs and alcohol have ravaged an individual’s mind and body. Substance abuse impacts an individual’s psychological health by exacerbating co-occurring mental health issues as well as causing serious long term physical effects such as liver disease, dementia, heart and central nervous system damage, and hypertension. In better understanding these effects that drugs and alcohol have on their mental and physical health, clients can find the motivation to embark on their recovery journey and make the life changes needed to maintain sobriety.
