He utilizes cognitive, psychodynamic, and behavioral existential therapies to treat individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. As Clear Recovery Center’s Clinical Director, Dr. Sean O’Hara spearheads a multidisciplinary staff of psychiatrists, therapists, clinical social workers, and certified counselors.

Dr. O’Hara served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Addiction Specialists and the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) for nine years. Dr. O’Hara has experience working with a diverse population of corporations, athletes in collegiate and national sports associations as well as celebrities in the entertainment industry. A pundit for sober living, Dr. O’Hara is dedicated to advancing clinical practices for sustainable relief from addiction and mental illness.

Dr. O’Hara enjoys live music, surfing, traveling, and all that Southern California has to offer.

As Clear Recovery Center’s contracted psychiatrist, Dr. Koo provides addiction therapy and medication management for clients on a specialized, individual basis. She also works closely with a network of recovery homes.

Dr. Koo serves as Medical Director of the Manhattan Beach Professional Group and the Neuro Wellness Spa.

She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, the New Center for Psychoanalysis, the Clinical TMS Society, The American Society of Addiction Medicine, the California Psychiatric Society and the Southern California Psychiatric Society.

He received his Masters of Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles and is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). He teaches mindfulness to both adults and children in group settings such as schools, corporate workplaces, and medical treatment facilities.

Charley has received extensive training in mindfulness practice and its application in psychotherapy, and he uses these collaboratively with clients to increase resilience, self-worth and a felt sense of security. He also has a background working with clients recovering from trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction and shame-based thinking. Charley’s approach is mindful and body-centered as he assists clients in increasing awareness of feelings, needs, and individual values in order to move towards well-being and whole-hearted living. Charley is happily married to his wife Tara Thomas and they have a wonderful eight-year old son, Murphey.

Dr Reader’s previous private practice was on the east coast and is new to California, and as a psychiatrist, she is able to offer the treatment options of both medications as well as often just as, if not more importantly, psychotherapy to address underlying psychological factors that change biochemistry in the brain over time.

A primary sub-specialty area of hers is reproductive psychiatry; treating women during the peri-natal period with psychiatric disorders that require medication during pregnancy and/or postpartum disorder. As well as directing women to resources and normalizing the biochemical, emotional and psychological experiences of pregnancy.

Dr. Reader’s practice offers an integrative, holistic approach to care, emphasizing ones spirituality, as part of the whole health of the individual. Using medication management to alleviate symptoms, combined psychotherapy, as well as collaborative care with a myriad of various treatment providers, to achieve treatment goals together with her patients.

In addition to Irinas passion in being a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice working with young adults, teens, families, and couples, she enjoys being an educator and a group facilitator where she specialized her work in family dynamics, supporting and educating families on how addiction as well as mental health challenges influences family dynamics.

Through a weekly family group facilitation at Clear Recovery Center, Irina helps families resolve those adverse family dynamics. While working with clients overcoming active addiction and mental health challenges, she helps families understand and process the multi-generational effects of alcoholism, drugs, and dysfunction in the family system, allowing families to heal, transform, and repair broken bonds, ensuring a chance to achieve successful recovery.

In her free time Irina enjoys spending time with her new baby, husband and her pup name Bentley.

Gabrielle Samuels received her BA from The University of California, Irvine and holds a MA in Clinical Psycology. She has been working within the mental health and addiction fields for over 8 years as a Psychotherapist and Horticulture Therapist in treatment centers including Sea Change Recovery and The Hills Treatment Center.

Gabrielle has also worked treating adolescents and children at The Maple Center in Beverly Hills and at Beverly Hills High School. Gabrielle applies attachment theory and trauma focused therapy to help clients heal. She uses her personal journey through recovery to help her clients see that there is hope and a way out of addiction and mental health challenges. In her spare time, Gabrielle loves being around her children, going to 12 step meetings with friends, practicing yoga, hiking with her dog, gardening and being outdoors.

His primary practice is Gestalt therapy, an existential and experiential form of psychotherapy. He emphasizes personal responsibility, a therapist–client relationship and environmental and social contexts of the client’s life in the recovery process.

Born and raised in South Bay, Evan offers valuable experience with the youths’ challenges, such as balancing academics, social pressures and family relationships. Evan is also highly specialized in school intervention for at-risk teens with 5 years of dedication to the South Bay youth community, counseling 1st to 12th grade students. Evan intuitively understands how to approach, mentor and inspire troubled youth.

Lisa worked at the Oregon Research Institute where she used the Cognitive Behavioral Model and Motivational Interviewing for research proposes while working with adolescents struggling with substance abuse.

Lisa has extensive experience and personal background in the twelve-step model of recovery. She believes that a non-judgmental and collaborative approach with clients enables them to identify problematic behaviors associated with substance abuse and work towards emotional growth and healing. Lisa hopes that her clients find the therapeutic process both helpful and meaningful.

In addition to her contributions to the Clear Recovery Center team, Lisa has a private practice in Hermosa Beach where she provides psychotherapy to individual adults, adolescents and couples.

Prior to this job, she has worked with children of disabilities giving one-on-one aid in school activities, while also running assisted sports programs with children living with Autism. She has an Associates Degree in Sociology and is currently attending Cal State Dominguez Hills.

She openly shares her experience with cyberbullying to help teens become more aware of the potential harmful effects of social media and tech usage. Madison is currently training to serve as a Case Manager at Clear Recovery Center to work with adolescents and to follow her passion of helping those in need.

Alicia’s favorite part about working in recovery is witnessing “the magical shift” that happens for others in the areas of sustained sobriety, health and wellness, family and relationships, and spirituality.

Alicia is currently pursuing her CDAC-I and looks forward to enrolling in an undergraduate program in psychology, so that she can become a therapist and a life coach. In her spare time, she loves spending quality time with her family and kids, going to the gym, and spending quiet time at home.

He earned a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at California State University, Northridge, and completed training to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). David is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

David is the founder of Nutrition In Recovery, which specializes in the nutritional management of Food Addiction, Substance Abuse, Eating Disorders, Weight Management, Sports Nutrition, and General Wellness. Nutrition in Recovery services includes consultation, screening/assessment, meal planning, process groups, group education, individual counseling, outings/events including supermarket tours, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.

Anne has been teaching yoga since 2009. Matt has served as Chief Medical Officer of a Men’s health clinic in San Francisco. He later gained extensive training and experience while practicing with one of the leading physicians in neuroendocrinology while living in the Monterey Peninsula. Matt specializes in a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions including: addiction, anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADD/ADHD, as well as a multitude of neuroendocrine disorders. His individualized approach starts with an open heart and an open mind; allowing the focus to be directed at all opportunities that can optimize physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Matt is currently acting as Outreach Liaison with Clear Recovery Center to fulfill his passion of helping people restore their health. In this role he’s bringing awareness to others in the medical community on the benefits of combining the best of conventional medicine with evidence based complimentary therapies to patients struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Dr. McNamee is certified in EEG-biofeedback (neurofeedback) which is a form of therapy that aids in the treatment of addiction, attention issues (ADD/ADHD), anxiety, depression, fears/phobias and PTSD.
