Why did you decide to get sober, or what turn of events lead you to Clear Behavioral Health?

I was tired of the way that I was living my life. I had become so miserable that I had given up, and I knew if I wanted to continue to live I was going to have to change.

How has your perspective on life changed since beginning recovery?

My perspective on life has really evolved throughout my recovery. I was so close-minded when I came in, and now I think my open mindedness and willingness are some of my best qualities.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

I am looking forward to sponsorship and taking others through the steps and the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous. It saved me and I want to give back to my sober community.

What have you learned about yourself in recovery?

I am constantly learning about myself in recovery. I think the most important thing I have learned this far is that I am enough, and I don’t need anyone’s validation for me to truly believe in myself.

If you could reach out to someone new in recovery, what advice would you give to them?

My advice would be to fully surrender to a 12 step program and stay connected to a sober community in order to hold yourself accountable. Walk through uncomfortability and do the work!
